The Ministry of Healing

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion” (Psalm 103;2-40)

This service makes provision for the Church’s ministry of healing through the laying on of hands and/or anointing. From ancient times the laying on of hands has been a symbol for the conveying of God’s power.

Among the gifts received from God by this means is that of healing.

Anointing provides a vivid expression of God’s love in time of sickness. It is helpful at the onset of an illness, as well as in times of crisis.

Pastoral care at Eltham Retirement Centre

St Margaret’s provides pastoral care for residents at Eltham Retirement Centre.

A team of parishioners visits residents twice a month to provide support and care by being an empathetic listener.

A service of Holy Communion is held on the second Wednesday and the fifth Wednesday of the month with parish volunteers assisting residents to attend.
