'Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit....'

2 Corinthians 3: 17b-18

At St Margaret's we offer a variety of programs to help us give the Spirit a chance to transform us.

Creating Spirit

Monday 1-3 pm

This group uses creative endeavour as the basis for reflecting on the spiritual life.  No experience is necessary as the emphasis is not on performance but on process.  It provides a safe and calm oasis in the week.  Over time, participants discover more about themselves and grow in love towards God.  There is lots of laughing.

Piece of Peace
10.30am—2.30pm on the 4th Wednesday of the Month.

We take time for a day of quiet refreshment through worship, shared lunch and art and music activities. Short workshops provide simple steps to get us started on the path to meditation and peace within ourselves.
Participants may take part in all or part of the day.

Christian Meditation Network
Saturday 8 for 8.15 am
Meditation is as natural to the spirit as breathing is to the body. Deeply rooted in the Christian tradition, it is an ancient spiritual discipline, a simple way into peace within oneself and union with the Spirit of Christ.

Retreat in Everyday Life
As offered at set times for a group, or by negotiation for an individual.
This is an opportunity to experience the life of prayer in a deeper way using different approaches to prayer.  A daily time commitment would be needed to practice the exercises.  The retreat in daily life would occur over a few weeks, with usually one weekly meeting with the group or with the leader of the retreat.

Labyrinth Walking
Anytime
The labyrinth symbolises the sacred path that every seeker travels through life.  As we physically walk to the centre of the labyrinth, we express in tangible form the journey into the centre of our soul, to encounter God in the hidden depths.  As we walk in, we let go of the cares of life to find new direction in the centre.  As we walk out, we find strength to continue our journey through life.

There is also opportunity to join several courses for those wanting to deepen their faith, or who are enquiring about Christianity:

Faith Enquiry Group

Trinity Certificate Course meets Monday nights for 8 week courses.
