We at St Margaret’s Anglican Church, Eltham are a Eucharistic faith community of around 120 active parishioners. We seek God’s transformative work as individuals and in parish life. We express this transformation by engaging with the wider community, demonstrating God’s love through our actions. We worship joyfully, creating sacred space for God in our hearts and through developing our church site in a way that recognises the sacredness of the earth. We equip ourselves to serve each other and those to whom God leads us.
We have a long involvement with our local community. St Margaret’s Parish Eltham was built in 1861 for the “welfare” of the district, then a rural farming community. Now Eltham is outer suburban, part of the Shire of Nillumbik, the Green Wedge shire, known as the “lungs of Melbourne”. Our letterhead reflects this. (click here for more information regarding the letterhead).
Our values, identified in conversation with parishioners, are important to us in guiding our choices
